Description
NIKOLIFE 5MG TABLET contains Nicorandil which belongs to the group of medicines called Potassium channel activators. It is used in adults to prevent and reduce painful signs of angina pectoris who cannot take heart medicines called beta-blockers or calcium antagonists.
Angina pectoris is a type of temporary chest pain or discomfort which occurs as a result of decreased blood flow to the heart muscle which is usually not a heart attack but a sign of increased risk for heart attack that is generally characterized by symptoms such as squeezing pressure, heaviness, tightness or pain in the chest that can occur sudden or recur over time.
Avoid consumption of alcohol during treatment with NIKOLIFE 5MG TABLET as it may reduce your blood pressure even more.
NIKOLIFE 5MG TABLET is not recommended for use in patients with severe low blood pressure, low blood volume, heart problems (such as cardiogenic shock, left ventricular failure with low filling pressure or cardiac decompensation).
Before taking NIKOLIFE 5MG TABLET, inform your doctor if you have lung problems such as pulmonary oedema (condition marked by fluid build-up in lungs), hepatic impairment or kidney problems.
NIKOLIFE 5MG TABLET is not recommended for use in pregnant and breastfeeding women. It is also not recommended for use in children and adolescents (below 18 years of age). Consult your doctor before taking it.
The most common side effects of taking NIKOLIFE 5MG TABLET are headache, dizziness, skin flushing, nausea, vomiting, weakness and rapid or forceful heartbeat. Consult your doctor if any of the symptoms worsen.
