FERIPRO XT Suspension contains Ferrous ascorbate and Folic acid which belongs to the group of medicines called Hematinics. It is used to treat and prevent nutritional deficiency anaemia associated with iron and folic acid.

FERIPRO XT Suspension can also be used to treat and prevent anaemia occurring during pregnancy and breast feeding. Anemia is when your body can’t produce enough of haemoglobin (a substance in red blood cells that enables them to carry oxygen), due to insufficient iron.

FERIPRO XT Suspension is not recommended to be taken if you have any kidney or liver diseases, porphyria cutanea tarda, conditions affecting iron level of your body, cobalamin deficiency, any malignant disease, inflammatory bowel disease, galactose intolerance, lapp lactase deficiency or glucose – galactose malabsorption.

It is not recommended to take FERIPRO XT Suspension if you are receiving frequent blood transfusions and parenteral iron therapy. FERIPRO XT Suspension is safe to take in pregnancy and breastfeeding, however, consult your doctor before taking it. Safety and efficacy of FERIPRO XT Suspension in children have not been established.

The most common side effects of taking FERIPRO XT Suspension are nausea, vomiting, constipation, diarrhoea and dark stools. It is recommended to consult the doctor if any of the symptoms worsen or persist for longer duration.
